Liang Zhang

Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Liang Zhang was named Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Synutra International, Inc. in June 2005 when the company became publicly listed. Together with European partners, Mr. Liang Zhang founded Synutra in 1997. Given his prior experiences as Chairman and General Manager of Sheng Yuan Dairy Co. Ltd., he remains the top-level decision maker. He started working with food ingredients industry in the 1980s and founded his entrepreneurial venture, Honnete Group Beijing in the early 1990s. Since 1994, Honnete has remained the dominant supplier of whey protein products in China with a 70% market share. Mr. Liang Zhang has a B.A. from Nanjing International Relations Institute.

Weiguo Zhang

President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Weiguo Zhang joined Synutra, Inc. in 2001 as President to oversee its U.S. operations, including information support in research and technologies, as well as business development. In June 2005, he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Synutra, to help develop the company's growth strategy and take the company public. In addition to Synutra's U.S. business operations, Mr. Weiguo Zhang is responsible for the company's financial market operations, including investor relations, corporate development, and international strategic development. In 1995 Mr. Weiguo Zhang founded Bambridge International, Ltd., an international business consulting and import-export firm where he was Managing Director. He received a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the Nanjing Foreign Languages Institute in China and received a M.A. in American Foreign Policy and International Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies at John Hopkins University.

Jibin Zhang

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Jibin Zhang was named Chief Financial Officer of Synutra International, Inc. at the time the company became publicly listed on the U.S. stock market in June, 2005. He is responsible for formulating Synutra's overall financial strategy. Mr. Jibin Zhang brings with him a comprehensive knowledge of Synutra's core businesses, an in-depth understanding he gained in his positions as Deputy General Manager of Sheng Yuan Dairy Co., Ltd., and then as Sheng Yuan's Comptroller and Director of Finance. Prior to joining Synutra, Mr. Jibin Zhang served as Vice President of the Quingdao Development Zone Branch of the China Construction Bank. He received a B.S. in Finance from the School of Economics and Finance at Shandong Poly Techniques University.

Willie Wu

Vice President

Dr. Willie Wu joined Synutra International Inc. as Vice President in 2005. Dr. Wu has over 10 years of sales and marketing experiences in Chinese and US markets, which will serve him well as he leads Synutra into continued rapid growth. Dr. Wu brings with him deep insight on consumer behaviors and population-based market dynamics and an astute understanding on leveraging sales and marketing towards the success of an organization. Dr. Wu's accumulated wealth of sales and marketing experience were gained through prior experiences as a front-line sales representative in the field and in various corporate level management positions with the International Division of Bristol-Myers Squibb. At BMS he assisted in the launch of a new product with a sales team that records US$2.8 Billion in annual sales. In 2001, Dr. Wu led a multi-functional Sales and Marketing Effectiveness Team within Bristol-Myers Squibb in China where he was responsible for sales training and development, sales information, hospital/retail sales force effectiveness, market research, and marketing services. He earned his Ph.D in Sociology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and his M.A. in American Studies from Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Chi-Tai Huang

Director of Technologies

Dr. Chi-Tai Huang joined Synutra as Director of Technologies in 2004. He brings with him over 20 years of professional and technical expertise in infant formula manufacturing, food engineering, product development and quality control. At Synutra, Dr. Huang has been instrumental in the success of the R&D efforts, quality control and quality assurance. He is also responsible for all legal and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Synutra, Dr. Huang held a variety of key technical and R&D positions in the food and pediatric nutrition industry both in China and internationally. His previous positions included: Technical Director of SIG Combibloc, General Manager of Addtop Food Industry Co, Technical Director/Plant Manager of Shanghai Wyeth Nutritionals Co, Technical Services/R&D Manager of Heinz-UFE, Guangzhou (China), and Process Engineer of Nabisco Biscuit, Inc. (Fairlawn, N.J.). Dr. Huang received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Food Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and his M.S. in Food Science & Technology from National Taiwan University. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering form Tatung Institute of Technology in Taiwan.
